Aaron Kampman's Departure

News broke recently that DE/OLB Aaron Kampman has signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars, and as much as it sucks to see him go, it was expected. He was an Unrestricted Free Agent, and really was not having much success playing as an Outside Linebacker in the 3-4 Scheme (He only produced 3 1/2 sacks in 9 games). Add an ACL injury to that, and you've got a couple reasons for the Packers to not resign him. Also, Rookie and 7th Round Pick Brad Jones filled in admirably for him, producing 4 Sacks and being a solid player overall.

The point of all this is that Kampman was ineffective as an OLB and when he got hurt, was replaced by a 7th Round Pick.

However, it still is sad to see him go. He was a very good DE for the Packers, and was truly as classy as they come, and I wish him great success as he plays for the Jaguars.
